Costa Rica: Northern Reaches for Birds and More

Our 17th year of leading photo/birding tours to Costa Rica.

Costa Rica has received praise for its handling of the corona virus. We've selected locally-owned lodges that give us space plus amazing photo opportunities. The water is safe to drink, food is agreeable, and travel easy.

We'll visit the northern provinces including Tenorio Volcano National Park and Maguenque National Wildlife Refuge. Photograph hummingbirds up close, marvel at toucans, parrots, monkeys, and enjoy spectacular scenery.

Sitka Alaska -- Whales & Wildlife

Travel with Kathy Adams Clark to Sitka, Alaska, to photography whales and other wildlife.

Our journey takes us to Sitka for six days.

During that time we'll have three excursion via boat to photograph whales as they feed on herring in the nearshore waters.

We'll explore the small city touring the Russian Orthodox Cemeter, Sitka National Park, a private tour of the raptor center, plus more. Photograph along the shoreline, the night sky, and landscapes.

Photographers of all skill levels are welcome. Traveling companions interested in wildlife and culture would also find this trip a great value.

Northern Ireland

Nine days of photographing and instruction with accomplished photographer and tour leader Kathy Adams Clark, and local Irish guide.

Photograph Belfast, and the walled city of Londonderry/Derry, with it’s award winning designed bridge at sunset. The remote, romantic peninsula of Donegal with fishing villages, lighthouses and immense beaches.

World Heritage Site of the Giant’s Causeway with basalt formations, Carrick-a-Rede Island and rope bridge, and the Dark Hedges (HBO’s Game of Thrones) of the Antrim Coast.

Tour limited to 12 participants for extra attention. Enjoy traditional Irish musicians at the local pubs.

Romania's Danube Delta -- Birds

Cruise the narrow waterways of the Danube Delta photographing birds.

Over 300 species of birds make the Danube Delta home. Migrants from Africa and Asia arrive in early spring swelling the number of resident birds. Dalmation pelicans, black-necked grebe, pygmy cormorant, squacco heron, white-tailed eagle, Eurasian sparrowhawk, Curlew sandpiper, common redshank, and much more.

Bird photographers of all skill levels are welcome. Traveling companions interested in culture and history would also find this trip a great value.

Spain's Basque Region

Villages, countryside landscapes, seascapes, food, and much more.

We'll start in San Sebastian including landscape on the Playa de la Conca and Monte Igueldo. Our travels take us to beaches and overlooks along the northern Spain coast. Travels inland give us a chance to explore Picos de Europa National Park, plus tiny villages, markets, and street scenes. The trip ends with time in the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

Of course, we'll eat, discuss photography, share photos, and learn new techniques.

My European trips usually fill fast so grab a spot on this one.
